Weiss demonstrates a firm knowledge of classic video games and the collector culture. His historical references are fairly accurate and his technical references should be good enough for a non-technical audience. There are also many moments throughout the book that will make the long-time collectors and arcade gamers go "Ain't that the truth?"
He also does an admirable job of constructing a story about a video game collector without turning it into a story about video games. Even the non-gamers won't find it hard to empathize with Pennyman's relationship problems and Dilbertesque difficulties with his employer.
