So what do I think of Lucky Wander Boy? It's an excellent novel with a few easily ignored problems. While I read through it, Fight Club kept springing to mind--not because of subject matter, but rather the surreal feel of it all. I just wish Lucky Wander Boy had the benefit of a little more clarity in the ending.
Readers unfamiliar with arcade gaming and classic video game collecting culture may feel a little left out reading Lucky Wander Boy. It's certainly not something that's likely to sell in vast quantities. Even so, I'd urge potential readers of all stripes to give it a chance.
